Planning & Housing Commission
The Planning and Housing Commission was established in May 2009. We bring together private and public sector partners to create quality places that meet the needs of a competitive Greater Manchester.
Significant achievements in the past two years have included the country's first Local Investment Agreement (LIP1) between the Homes and Communities Agency and AGMA in 2009, and the preparation and agreement of the Greater Manchester Housing Strategy.
A second Local Investment Plan (LIP2) has been completed in 2011, this has been developed as a prospectus approach, setting out the case for investment in housing and regeneration in Greater Manchester with the aim of maximising investment from both public and private sector sources.
Currently, work is well underway on the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) which will set out our investment priorities to deliver the Greater Manchester Strategy. These form signicant milestones and, key elements of GM's integrated investment and spatial framework, to help Greater Manchester's local government and business partnership make informed decisions about investment, for delivery at the local level.
