Commission Supporting Structures
The PPC itself is supported by a Team Manchester group of Senior Officers chaired by the Chief Constable, and underneath this by a number of theme groups. The four central groups (Serious Acquisitive Crime, Serious Violent Crime, Reducing Reoffending and Improving Public Confidence) were created in Spring 2010 to support the coordination and delivery of Commission business. A well-developed structure exists in relation to Civil Contingencies, and terms of reference have been agreed that define the relationship between the Commission and the GM Resilience Forum. Further work is developing to connect the Commission to the relevant multi-agency structures supporting GM level work on Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime.
The PPC maintains many links to other Commissions. We have a representative on a cross-Commission Integrated Research Team, and work particularly closely with health colleagues in multi-agency groups focused on alcohol and mental health.
