Personal Information and Other Data We Collect

  • We do not store personal information about people who visit this site unless they provide contact information or use one of our online services.
  • If you provide any personal information to order to use a service on this website, it will only be used for the reasons given on the page.
  • We do not use cookies and other technologies to collect information.  Our servers automatically record information when you visit our website or use some of our services, including the URL, IP address, browser type and language, and the date and time of your request.

  • We may use personal information for auditing, research and analysis purposes in order to operate and improve our services.  Where this is the case the information will be collected into groups so that it no longer references to an identifiable individual.

  • We may share information that no longer reflects or references an identifiable individual with AGMA members, associate members and partners for auditing, research and analysis purposes in order to operate and improve our services.

Location of the Processing of the Information We Collect

  • We process personal information on our servers in the United Kingdom. 
  • Personal information will not be processed on a server outside of the European Union.

 

 Your Choices and Rights

  • We may share your personal information with AGMA members, associate members and partners in order to provide the services you've requested.
  • Whenever reasonably possible we offer you choices when we ask for personal information.  You may decline to provide personal information to us, although some of our services may not be available as a result.
  • The Data Protection Act 1998 provides you with a number of rights including the right to, access and correct information about you, which is held on computer and in some paper records.
  • The Freedom of Information Act 2000 provides you with a general right to access  'recorded' information, held by public authorities, which relates to the public authority.

  •  If the contact you have made has been with an individual council or the information you are seeking is held by an individual council then please contact the individual council directly. The details of each council can be found by clicking on the relevant hyperlink at the bottom of this page.
  • If the contact you have made or the information you are seeking is held by an AGMA unit then please note that AGMA is not a legally constituted body and therefore AGMA is not a data controller in its own right.  Each of the AGMA units is the responsibility of one of the 10 Greater Manchester authorities who is the data controller for the information processed by that unit.

 Advice on Obtaining Information
If you are unsure who holds your personal information or the information you are seeking may wish to telephone AGMA Policy and Research Unit for an “informal chat.” We may be able to direct you to who we believe holds the information you require.  However without making a formal request we would simply be attempting to point you in the right direction and cannot guarantee that we would correctly identify and direct you to the public body who holds the information you require.
