Local Enterprise Partnership
The Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership (GMLEP) sits at the heart of Greater Manchester’s partnerships between local government, businesses and other partners in further and higher education, and across the public, private and voluntary and community sectors. Greater Manchester’s proposal to government outlined nine key policy areas which are crucial to the delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy and over which the GMLEP would exercise its influence. These are:
- Employment and skills
- Business Support for New Businesses and Growth
- Science and Innovation
- Inward Investment and International Trade
- Marketing and Tourism
- European Funding
- Low Carbon Economy
- Planning, Housing and Transport
- Research and Strategy Development
The LEP will
- Support the delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy including the Strategy’s twin aspirations of driving sustainable economic growth and improving the productivity of the labour market
- Provide strategic private sector-led leadership and drive progress in the nine key policy areas set out above ensuring they maintain a sharp focus on economic growth and driving efficiency
